Objective: Trost wanted to see a considerable improvement of the workflow for printing, copying and faxing while also reducing costs.
Approach: Analysis of the existing equipment, the demand for new equipment and consumables and the workflow. Elimination of dot matrix printers to be replaced bylaser systems. Elimination of dedicated copiers and fax machines to be replaced by HP multifunction printers (HP MFPs). Introduction of output management software for form printing. Implementation of HP Smart Printing Services with basic charge and 'pay-per-click' billing.
IT improvements: • The use of HP Web Jetadmin software allows complete transparency in the printer infrastructure with respect to configuration and use. • The removal of the dot matrix printers allows considerable savings in time and maintenance. • Concentrating on one manufacturer allows consistent functionality across all print systems.
